To Boldly Go...

Happy 2nd day of December, readers! Due to Ghost's acquisition of Roon and my total lack of desire to figure out all of that nonsense, I've migrated my blog here, to Blogger, which is owned by Google and, therefore, much easier for me to handle ;)

Today, I drank a delicious IPA from Big Muddy Brewing, based in Murphysboro, IL. I've had a couple of their beers before (namely their fantastic Blueberry Blonde and their Vanilla Stout!), but this is the first canned offering I've tried.

This IPA is delicious and well-balanced. The bitterness isn't overwhelming, and there are some strong floral and citrus notes. This beer poured incredibly heady, though, which I wasn't a big fan of. The head also had the consistency of marshmallow creme. That's not a judgement, just an observation.
Obviously, the galaxy hops are the star of the show here, and that led me to tonight's blog topic.. Galaxies... Space... The final frontier?!
That's right, we're talking about Star Trek tonight. I'll admit, I'm not as well-versed as I was as a youngster, but I still enjoy Star Trek; just watched a couple episodes of TNG tonight, in fact. BBC aired The Dauphin, one of the most hilarious and cringe-worthy episodes in which Wesley Snipes Crusher asks Worf for dating advice, with hilarious results. In this episode, we meet two temporary Enterprise passengers who are not necessarily what they appear to be, with their metamorphosis serving as an allegory for the metamorphosis occurring all up in wee bebe Wesley's hormones!
As much as I love the ridiculous hijinks of TNG, I'll be a Voyager fangirl at heart. I know, that's basically blasphemy, but it's what I grew up with.

I'll be back with another post tomorrow after I sample the latest 4 Hands releases at The Royale!
